Metallurgical industry refers to the industrial sector that exploits, concentrates, sinters metal ores, smelts them and processes them into metal materials. It can be divided into: (1) ferrous metallurgical industry, i.e. the industrial sector producing iron, chromium, manganese and their alloys, which mainly provides raw materials for modern industry, transportation, capital construction and military equipment; (2) non-ferrous metallurgical industry, i.e. the Metallurgical Sector producing non-ferrous metals, such as copper industry, aluminum industry and lead-zinc industry.
